Portugal, WWI, Army steel helmet, a rare example of the pattern introduced in 1916 and fielded in the western front by Portuguese soldiers, styled on British private purchase helmets introduced just prior to 1916, with nearly all its original khaki painted finish, with original basic liner, wool material lining, leather sweatband held in place by threaded cord through holes near the flare of the bowl, original leather chinstrap. Some service and age wear to chinstrap, overall extremely fine and rare.

Germany, WWI, trench body armour, a full set comprising the Stirnpanzer (helmet brow plate), an original example of the pattern introduced in 1916 with no rust or damage and showing traces of the original painted finish, both leather head straps have been post war replaced, but in period style; an original German M1916 steel helmet, a shell only and having been a Bulgarian re-issued helmet post war serves as a perfect frame to display the brow plate; Grabenpanzer (body armour) breast plate and the three matching lower aprons, the upper breast plate with original rivets to the shoulder straps, all connecting straps replaced, repainted a long time ago and close to the original colour. Hand painted name 'Dan Millett' inside of breast plate, no rust or damage and with maker's mark of three rings of Krupp, very fine and rare. (weight 20kg)
