Naval cocked hat, 19th century (c1820), folding 'chapeau bras' style made of knapped beaver felt and silk lined with black cockade at right side, also at side decorated with short ribbon suspended from chainwork attached to metal emblem. Two chain strands need fixing, one is missing loop and the other needs to be sewn onto ribbon, hat lining intact, wear at ends and around band, aged, good.
