Sydney, promissory note, Blaxcell, G., two hundred and fifty pounds, handwritten, Sydney, March 20th 1812, payable to Captain Joseph James, on or before 24th June 1812. Accompanied by a printed form of a notice of protest printed by George Howe, Sydney, 1813, signed by Ellis Bent, Judge Advocate of the Territory of New South Wales, showing that Blaxcell had not paid by 16th August 1813. Stained left and right side, fine and extremely rare.

Includes bills of exchange on official forms from Commissariat Office these on forms by S. Bank of Van Diemen's Land, a contemporary marble board volume housing printed cheque forms with original cheque butts drawn on the bank to various payees on the account of Y.O.S., drawn and signed by Gamaliel Butler, all were issued in 1830, cheques commence with No.10 (5th May 1830) going through to No.100; a second series runs from No.1 to No.71 (the last cheque is dated 18th Dec. 1830) (155), (some numbers are missing) together with various letter numbered issues A, B(2), O, Q, S, T, U, V, W, X and Y all issued mostly in May 1830 (13) others un-numbered issued in late 1830 (12).
