Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I (323-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.476 grams), issued 310-305 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right with horn of Ammon, clad in elephant skin and aegis, dotted border, **L* under head on aegis, rev. **ALEXANDROU* on left, Athena Alkidemos to right with spear and shield, monograms XA on right to extreme right helmet, eagle off flan lower right, (cf.S.7750, Sv.162, Zervos 28, SNG Cop. 29). Attractive grey cabinet patina, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

Oxidation and porosity on obverse at edge, and with some broken surfaces on left side of obverse, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
