Hobart Town, Tasmania. 1860, presentation medallion in gold (61grams; 51mm) for the Independant Order of Odd Fellows, hand crafted (probably by Brush & MacDonell) set in ornate vine leaf and twined rope surround, the rising sun over a bay, blue glass background and blue ribbon with gold clasp and pin mount for wearing. The reverse inscription 'Presented/ To/ Br. E.H. IVEY,/ past Grand Master/ of the I.O. of Odd Fellows,/ by the/ Grand Lodge,/ as a/ mark of Esteem for his/ long and zealous services/ Hobart Town,/ Tasmania./ 1860.' Extremely fine and unique, an outstanding example of mid 19th Century Colonial Craftsmanship.
