Bank of New South Wales, fifty pounds, not dated (19- printed), c.1914-1923, no branch stated, not numbered, specimen note, unsigned, perforated SPECIMEN, imprint of 'Charles Skipper & East London', vignette in centre of woman seated, ship to left and sheep to right, ornamental oval tablet with 50 in upper areas and FIFTY in rounded end rectangular tablet lower left, all within rectangular ornate spiral border, red on white, (Vort-Ronald, Type seven (f), comments on bank and type p.67-85, similar notes illustrated Fig. 83 and 87 [p.81 and 84], P.S158). Nearly extremely fine and very rare.

One pound, Burns Philp and Co. Limited, Thursday Island, Torres Straits, (ruled ink lines to cancel), No 180 not dated but circa 1884, signed J. Burns and entered by F.Waley Serg., imprint W.E.SMITH, SYDNEY., embossed with Queensland Stamp Duty one penny. (see Mira, Cowrie to Kina, pp 41-2). Stained, a few minor perforations and edge tears otherwise fine and excessively rare.
