Treasury Bill by the Depty Commissary General's Office, Sydney New South Wales, 24th September 1818 for pounds sterling 700.0.0 to the order of Thomas Macvitie Esq. No.1076 and handsigned by Deputy Commissary General, David Allen and approved by Governor Lachlan Macquarie. On official 'crown' international parchment with the impressed Seal of the Bank of New South Wales, has been impressed. One of the earliest Colonial Treasury Bills known and of the highest rarity. Large section of the bottom of the note missing, but does not affect the design and signatures, otherwise fine and very rare.

Potts. Transferred on the back to John Paty on the 7th October 1834. Nearly extremely fine and very scarce.

Potts, printed on watermarked paper 'BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES' within saw toothed multiple line frame, with imprint in centre of bottom, 'Charles Skipper & East, London', with vignettes of female seated with produce and in top corners oval framed tablet with FIVE, all within rectangular ornate spiral border with NEW SOUTH WALES in frame, back with large 5 within oval surrounded by a ornate circles in each corner, blue on white, (New England Hoard No. 79 [Report of ANS 1974 yearbook, pp.49-68], Vort-Ronald, p.67-85 on bank, and similar note illustrated as Fig.78, Tomlinson p.24 illustrates five pound note of type). Folds and creases, minor pencil markings on back, otherwise very fine and rare.
