World War I, German New Guinea, occupied by Australia, Treasury note, ten marks, Rabaul, 14th October 1914, no.1234, cross cancelled (P.2b). Restored after removal of glue from back when part of a collection displayed in the Commonwealth Bank, Comm of composite W.E.Smiths watermarked paper visible on this note (listed in Cowra to Kina, p.73) thinned paper with backing paper otherwise nearly fine and extremely rare, one of ten known.
