London to Melbourne 1934, aluminium (37 mm) to commemorate the flight of the British D-H comet 'Grosvenor House' piloted by C.W.A. Scott and T. Campbell Black winners of the MacRobertson (Victorian) Centenary Air Race from London to Melbourne 19th-22nd October 1934, a distance of 11,296 miles in 72 hours at an average speed of 170 miles per hour. Reverse legend states 'EXHIBITED AT LEWIS'S (the department store) 1935'. The first we have seen, apparently unpublished. Very fine and very rare.
