Huvishka, (c.A.D. 260-292), gold stater, (7.85 grams), obv. bust of upper part of king nimbate to left, wearing tall pointed leather helmet and chin-band and a tight-fitting tunic, holding a ribboned spear and a mace in his right hand, legend around, rev. Goddess Nana standing to right, holding a short staff tipped with the protome of a horse, wreath, behind legend downwards NANA, (Gobl 281, cf.M.3196/3195). Slighly polished on the obverse, otherwise good very fine and excessively rare and possibly the second only known specimen.

Samudragupta, (c.A.D. 330-370), gold stater, (7.67 grams), standard type, obv. king standing to left, wearing Kushan style coat and trousers, holding a tall standard with his left hand, sacrificing over altar, in the field to left is the garudadhvaja, the Garuda(Peacock)-topped standard, Samudra in Brahmi letters to his immediate right, poetical legend around, rev. goddess Lakshmi seated facing on a two leg stool, holding a cornucopiae and a noose, symbol to left, to right the biruda of the king, the Brahmi legend 'Parakramah', (Altekar cf.plate II, 5, BMC 6 [Pl.I, 8] from very similar dies, cf.M.4775). Of fine style, good very fine/very fine, very scarce.

Samudragupta, (c.A.D. 330-370), gold stater, (7.5 grams), Crude lyrist type, obv. king, nimbate, clothed in the dhoti, seated to left, on an upholstered couch, his right foot tucked beneath him, his left arm resting on a footstool in front of the couch, he holds a lute in his left hand, which he plays with his right, the couch rests on four knobbed legs and has a tall back, Brahmi legend around of Samudragupta full titles, 'Maharajah Samudragupta', rev. goddess Lakshmi nimbate, to left, seated on wicker stool, holding a cornucopiae and a noose, to right Brahmi legend, (Altekar cf.plate III, 17, BMC 55, [p.20, Pl.V, 8] similar but from less cruder dies, cf.M.4789 but better dies). Has been mounted, good fine and very rare.
