Bank of New South Wales, share certificate for one hundred pounds printed on vellum, issued to Samuel Terry, 31st May 1832, No. 747 printed by William Moffitt (no imprint). Transferred on the back to John Malcolm 12th May 1838. One of the earliest available Australian share certificates. Nearly extremely fine and rare.

Payable also in Adelaide (cf Nicholsen lot 1631) (see Mira, W.J.D., 'From Riverboat to Iron Horse' MCC, Sydney 1990, p.16). Trimmed to border, many folds, creases and tears, stuck down (as usual) to thick backing paper or card, fair and excessively rare, the only known example of this denomination.

Mira or p.16 mentions that Randell and Scott had a store at Darling Junction and suspected notes were issued from there as well as Hay.
