FitzRoy Debenture, one pound sterling, Auckland, 1st June 1844, bearing interest of 5% and payable at one pound one shilling, No.4729, handsigned by Governor Robert Fitzroy and Andrew Sinclair the Colonial Secretary. Vertically overprinted in red with the date of issue (1845) and handstamped by the Colonial Treasurer, (Sutherland p.157-165, Hargreaves p.39-46). The only known example in private hands, with small tear on left and right border, otherwise fine and extremely rare.

Bank of Auckland, first issue, one pound, Auckland, 4th July 1865, No. A 9326, imprint of Charles Skipper and East, London, ink and pencil signatures on back, (L.548, P.S106 this note illustrated). Has been repaired across centre vertical fold, two rust holes and loss of upper corners, extensive creases and folds, many minor edge tears, otherwise very good, extremely rare, the only known circulated example in private hands.
