Bank of Parramatta, Parramatta, one pound, not dated except 183-, printer's proof, on printed unwatermarked paper, imprint on left 'Silvester & Co., sc. 27 Strand, London', vignette of sheep with wreath in centre, to left in ornate style of caligraphy various letters forming the name H.H. Macarthur within a block, black on white, (Vort-Ronald fig 99, [p.96] illustrates the other known note, which was sold Spink Noble Sale 37, lot 2734, the pedigree noted for that note was incorrect). Minor error of a paper fold in printing, otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare, being the second known specimen.

The City of Melbourne Bank Limited, Melbourne, one pound, dated originally 1st April 1877 and red overprinted date 19th June 1893, (dates printed), numbered No. A 341591, on paper, uncertain signatures, no watermarks, imprint of 'Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Engravers &c London' lower centre, vignette of female figure facing in oval tablet, 1 in circlar geometric frames in corners and 'ONE' in value tablet lower left, all within rectangular frame built up on 'ONE' in intricate design, states 'I Promise to pay to the Bearer on demand ONE POUND Sterling. Melbourne ... For The City of Melbourne Bank Limited', with ONE in blue and yellow inside central area, on back arms, geometric ovals with value tablet '1' and 'ONE' written, inside border pattern, around, blue, yellow and black on white/red and blue on white, (Vort-Ronald, cf.Fig.134a & 134b and [p.125-6], comments p.125-6 on bank, also Tomlinson p.48-49). Commercial Bank, Hobart Town, Van Diemens Land, one pound, forgery in Indian ink, 1 July 1835 (year 18 printed), No. 1351, forged hand signatures of John Dunn (founder of the bank) and Wm. Gellibrand, copied from an original note, black on white, on unwatermarked paper, vignette of standing figure, in black ink, on front additional initials and date '11 Oct 41' in two places and 'Exhibited in the Reprieve(?) Court in Reg v. Watkins this 20th October 1841', and on back in black ink 'Produced Police Office Oct 11/41. and additional '20 Febry 1836 Exhibited in the prosecution of Eugene McCarthy this day' and signed by an uncertain signature, also additional uncertain words on back in black ink, (Vort-Ronald [p.138-141]).
