Ex. Spink Noble Sale 43, (lot 3427). $$ This issue of the English, Scottish & Australian Chartered Bank (1852-1970), was cancelled probably because it lacked a number and therefore consequently kept apart from other issues. It also had very little circulation if any. This first type issue is much rarer, (and also rare as an early dated note), than the later 19th century issues. Its importance is further apparent in that it comes from one of the major established banks.
