World War II, Internment Camp Hay, Camp Seven Bank, uniface printer's proof or colour trial of the front of the two shillings, signed by R. Stahl but without date top line of legend, left signature or serials, colour blue (as on the sixpence). Uniface printer's colour trial in scarlet of the front of the note, signed by R. Stahl but without any overprinting. Uniface artist's ink drawings in scarlet, pink and black of the front and back of suggested two shillings design (very close to the final version) except date is 6th March 1941, and the controller is 'Dr. Hardegg' on left, Manager R. Stahl and uncertain on right, serial number B10001, also ink drawing cut to shape of suggestions for the shield, one of a ram (as adopted) the other a row of three huts with 7 top and bottom. Original large drawing in pencil on tracing paper for the centre of the two shillings note, original instructions to the printer in pencil on thin cardboard signed in ink 'George Teltscher 1941'. Printer's proofs of overprint on front and back of two shillings on art paper. An original carbon type written copy of the AMF Eastern Command letter discusing withdrawal of the notes (received 16/4/41) and a photo of the camp taken in 1940. First two items mounted to a support card, otherwise uncirculated and both probably unique, others very fine - extremely fine and a unique lot. (12)
