The Commercial Bank of South Australia, one pound, Adelaide, 1st January, 1885, No. B 156818 (MVR type 2). Nearly very fine and very rare in this condition.

Commercial Bank, Hobart Town, Van Diemens Land, one pound, forgery in Indian ink, 1 July 1835 (year 18 printed), No. 1351, forged hand signatures of John Dunn (founder of the bank) and Wm. Gellibrand, copied from an original note, black on white, on unwatermarked paper. 'Exhibited in the Reprieve(?) Court in Reg v. Watkins this 20th October 1841', and on back in black ink 'Produced Police Office Oct 11/41. and additional '20 Febry 1836 Exhibited in the prosecution of Eugene McCarthy this day' and signed by an uncertain signature (Vort-Ronald [p.138-141]). Missing corner and some edges, minor pin-holes and edge splits, otherwise nearly fine, believed to be unique, and of great historical interest.

Folds and creases, minor holes along creases, slightly soiled and worn on front and back, otherwise fine and excessivley rare, the type from Launceston probably unique.

Cornwall Bank, Launceston (Cornwall County), Van Diemen's Land, one pound, dated Feb, 1, 1831, (183 printed), numbered 7338, signatures on note are Richard Dry (foundation director of the bank 1828-1836) and William Effington Lawrence (Bank Chairman 1828-1836) imprint of 'Bock sct Hobart' (Vort-Ronald, comments on bank and type p.153). Many folds and creases, rough edges stiftened with fresh paper on frayed edges, with additional tone and staining marks, many pin-holes, otherwise good - very good and excessively rare if not unique as an issued note from this bank.
