Celtic, Danube Region, Imitating Thasos, (c. 1st century B.C.), silver tetradrachm 33 mm, (16.07 g), obv. Celticized wreathed head of Dionysos to right. rev. Celticized Herakles standing facing, holding club in his right hand and lion skin with his left, to inner left, in row downwards representing a club, all reduced to a single line, legend degraded to a series of pellets, (Lanz 980-2, OTA Class V, cf.Lukanc 1654). Lightly toned and struck on a typically curved flan, good very fine, rare.

An attractive example, rare thus, very sharply struck and with a lovely dark grey patina as found. Good very fine, very rare.
