Julius Caesar, silver denarius, issued 49-48 B.C., moving mint with Caesar, (3.77 g), obv. Elephant to right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue, border of dots, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat all in dotted circle, (S.1006, C.443./1, BMC Gaul 27, Sear Julius Caesar 49 [p.111]). Light porosity, struck slightly off centre, very fine and scarce.

Mark Antony, (32-31 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Mark Antony, (3.71 g), obv. praetorian galley to right with rowers etc., around legends ANT AVG III VIR. R.P.C., rev. legionary eagle between two standards, LEG XVIII below, (S.1479, Cr.544/33, Syd.1239). Toned, banker's mark on obverse, nearly very fine and scarce.
