Crimea lithographs, by Day & Son, lithographers to the Queen, drawn by William Simpson, published by, Paul Dominic Colnaghi & Co., London 1855, includes the following five items, Sebastopol From the East Or Extreme Right of English Attack; The New Works at the Siege of Sebastopol on the Right Attack; Distant View of Lord Raglan's Head Quarters Before Sebastopol; Redan and Advanced Trenches of British Right Attack; View From the Heights Above Balaklava, Looking Towards Sebastopol (Shewing (sic) the Ground of the Battle of the 25th Octr and of the 5th Novr 1854 and the Line of Our Defences Since the 25th Octr), all approx 45x28cm excluding borders and in colour. Edge tears and some loss of paper to white borders not affecting the image, foxing and some with water stains, otherwise fine and scarce. (5)

Both maps with tears and paper loss around borders, the second with foxing along lines of removed sticky tape, otherwise fine, the newspaper with some toning, very fine. (3)

Van Diemen's Land, handwritten two page letter and accompanying two page statement, from Police Office Hobart, dated 7th April 1834 to the Police Magistrate for Richmond, concerning a prisoner John Pearce, an absentee from the Grass Tree Hill Road Party and his written statement relative to the men now in custody at Richmond, charged with the robbery at Mr Sharpes. The statement given by John Pearce details the robbery committed by a John Shepherd posing as a police constable and telling the property owner, Mr Sharpes that he had heard bushrangers were there. The statement describes in detail how Mr Shepherd and four others had obtained the goods and who they later sold them to. The items stolen included a fowling piece, a musket, tablecloth, shawl handkerchief, a bedsheet and spyglass. A very interesting and early account of a criminal action in Van Diemen's Land. Small holes in centre fold on first page, also five minor tears to edges, very fine, well preserved and quite legible.

Van Diemen's Land, Charge Sheet on parchment dated 15 January 1842, made by Attorney General Thomas Welsh, stating that Richard Singleton, labourer, did steal one gun, a pair of trousers and one shirt being the goods of Robert Johnston, signed by Thomas Welsh, at the left edge is marked, 'Plea not Guilty' and on the reverse is written, 'Found Not Guilty'. Very fine.

Van Diemen's Land, letter dated 14 March 1849 from Roderick McDonald, in H.M. Gaol, Richmond, to Mr Young, Female Hiring Depot at Ross requesting that the recipient forward on his letter, in which he states he has been in prison for 16 weeks and is totally penniless and unable to pay the fine of ten pounds, together with a recommendation by Mr Young, the instigator of the charge against McDonald, that he be released from prison; also letter dated 20 March 1849 from said Mr Young to the Chief Police Magistrate, Hobart making such a recommendation for issuing an Order to Richmond Gaol for the release of Mr McDonald. Ragged edge on second letter where the page has been torn from a book, otherwise fine - very fine. (2 letters)

Bank of New South Wales correspondence, all hand-written from the Inspector's Office, Sydney to the manager of Yass branch of the bank and other letters from Merion Moriarty, Solicitors, Yass, during April 1899 re conveyance of a property at O'Connelltown extension of the town of Yass, from Cusack and Scourfield and Cusack and Palmer and difficulties arising as a former owner, Rees Jones, never obtained his certificate of title over 40 years earlier. Public Library Museum & Art Gallery of South Australia, letter of thanks to Lady Ernest Waterlow, 2 Queen's Gate, London, S.W.7. England, for the presentation of three examples of the late Sir Ernest Waterlow's artwork, one of which is The Mill, Essex, handwritten in calligraphy style in red and black ink, signed by B.S.Roach as President and Malcolm McRae as Acting General Secretary, framed under glass in a gilt frame (approx 420x336mm). Small 300mm section of frame damaged, a few light foxing spots on the letter and some age fading of some red ink, otherwise extremely fine.

Stiles B.A. on 28 March 1871 for the impending marriage of Rowland John Traill, M.D., J.P., of Collaroy, widower and Emma Louisa L. Woodhouse, widow, of Llangollen Cassilis, with Bishop of Newcastles' paper seal impression affixed; Trust document, Sydney, dated June 22nd 1875, an original and another marked 'copy' and both signed by Henry Mort and J D Macansh, the first also by a witness, acknowledging that 25 shares of capital stock of the Bank of New South Wales standing in their names were paid for in the amount of one thousand pounds by the Bank of New South Wales in recognition of the services of the late General Manager, Robert Woodhouse and that these shares are held in trust for and all dividends are to be paid to Mrs Emma Traill, formerly Mrs Emma Woodhouse, the widow of the late Robert Woodhouse and shall be appropriated on her death as her last will and testament directs; another undated handwritten indenture of six pages in anticipation of the forthcoming marriage of Emma Louisa Laverock Traill and Henry Mort in respect of various shares and their future disposition after the marriage is solemnized, unsigned but with provision for signatures of Emma Louisa Laverock Traill, John Windeyer and Arthur Irby Traill on the one part and Henry Mort on the second part. The first with some loss of colour from paper, creases, splits and some paper loss, otherwise very good, the rest with folds and some foxing otherwise fine. (4)
