Alexius I, (1081-1118) silver histamenon nomisma, (4.29 g), struck at Constantinople mint, scyphate flan, issued 1081-1092, obv. Bust of Christ facing, with nimbus, rev. Alexius I bust facing bearded wearing loros and crown, in right hand sceptre surmounted by cross with floral arrangements, and in left hand globe with cross, double border, (S.1894, H.Pl.1, 5-8, R.2061). Large flan, good very fine and scarce.

Andronicus I Comnenus, (1183-1185), billon aspron trachy 33mm, (3.69 g), Constantinople mint, obv. the Theotokos standing facing, wearing nimbus crown, pallium, and maphorium, and holding head of infant Christ facing, wearing nimbus crown,; barred MHP-**Q*V across field, rev. AN**DRONIKW D*EC**[POTHC], Andronicus standing facing, wearing divitision, loros, and sagion, holding labarum and globus cruciger, and being crowned by Christ standing facing, wearing pallium and colobium and holding Gospel book; barred IC between, bared XC to right, (S.1985, DOC Type 3b, Hendy [Pl.18, 13-16, BMC 5-9). Nearly extremely fine with even brown patina, flan split, but well struck for issue, rare as such.
