Austria, Emperor Matthias and Consort Anna, Coronation medal, c1612, in cast silver (37mm) by Christian Maler (Forrer Vol 3, p541), obverse, the Emperor laureate, draped, and cuirassed, wearing high large ruff and the collar and badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the Empress wearing dress with jewelled bodice and high, fan shaped, lace ruff, reverse, Emperor seated on throne holding sword and scales of justice in one hand and laurel branch in other, at each side an angel, one holding mace the other an orb and both placing crown on Emperor's head. Very fine.
