New South Wales, Revenue Branch Colonial Treasury, Sydney, 8 May 1839, receipt for thirty eight pounds eight shillings sterling as a deposit against three hundred and eighty four pounds for purchase of six hundred and forty acres in the County of Bourke @ twelve shillings per acre, signed by the Colonial Treasurer. Very fine and rare.

Lot 2782 Sale 76 Private Bank Issues

Colony of New Australia, in Paraguay, 1895, one peso signed by F kidd, type with vignette of clasped hands with coat & shirt sleeves, type-face on the numerals is standard or sans serif (110 x 67mm). The date stamp unclear, appears to be ending in 5 (day month 95). Pieces missing near edge, holes, diagonal fold and water (?) stain otherwise very good and excessively rare, the first example we have handled and the only one of this type in private hands and is similar to Dame Mary Gilmore's example in the Mitchell Library.
