Kumaragupta I, (A.D. 414-455), gold stater, (7.32 grams), archer type, BMC Class n, obv. king nimbate, standing to left, wearing Kushan style coat and trousers, holding a bow with string outwards in his left hand, and an arrow in his right hand, the Garuda-topped standard to left, around 'Maharajah Kumaragupta', rev. goddess Lakshmi nimbate seated cross-legged facing on lotus, holding a lotus and a noose, symbol to upper left, to right the Brahmi legend reads 'Sri Mahendrah (a name of Kumaragupta)', (Altekar cf.plate IX, 13, BMC 200 [Pl.XII, 12] from very similar dies, cf.M.4829). Small dumpy flan, otherwise very fine and rare.

Kumaragupta I, (A.D. 414-455), gold stater, (8.11 grams), horseman type, BMC Class IIa, obv. king nimbate, with long locks, mounted on horse, prancing to right, Bahmi script around, 'The unconquered Mahendra, invincible, the moon in the sky of the Gupta line, the victorious', rev. goddess Lakshmi nimbate seated on wicker stool, to left, holding a lotus and feeding a peacock from a bunch of fruit, to right, the Brahmi legend 'Ajitavikramah (he whose prowess is unsurpassed)', (Altekar cf.plate XI, 3-4, BMC 219 [Pl.XIII, 11] from very similar dies, cf.M.4839). Small dumpy flan, otherwise very fine and rare.

Skandagupta, (c.A.D. 455-480), gold stater, (6.48 grams), archer type, BMC Late Issue on heavy standard, obv. king nimbate, standing to left, wearing Kushan style coat and trousers, holding a bow in his left hand, and an arrow in his right hand, the Garuda-topped standard to left, 'Skanda' in Brahmi letters to his immediate right, around probably means 'The rajah Sri-Kramadityah, the benefactor of others, wins heaven', rev. goddess Lakshmi nimbate seated cross-legged facing on lotus, holding a lotus on knee, and a noose, symbol to upper left, to right the Brahmi legend 'Kramadityah (also a name for Skandagupta)', (Altekar cf.plate XIV, 9, BMC 426 [Pl.XIX, 11] from very similar dies, M.4865). Large flan, with some dirt inclusion, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
