Trench art, a pair of brass vases made from 40mm shell casings, both with curved handles at each side, the base of both stamped, '40MM. MI/L/Lot 50084 (crossed canons) 6 F. A. 1942'. Each handle has a piece of solder attached so possibly there was something affixed to each handle, otherwise very fine. (2)

Australia, WWII, trench art Japanese Navy 25mm steel shell casings for Type 96 anti-aircraft - anti-tank gun, one with the base marked S 10/16 (probably made in October in Showa 16 [1941]), the other marked S 2/17 (probably made in February in Showa 17 [1942]), both bases also marked with an anchor and other Japanese characters, on one side of both is inscribed with 'A.I.F./Papua/1943-44' between two palm trees. Very fine. (2)

World War II, chromed Japanese shell casing, the base stamped with Japanese characters and also crossed cannons and the letter F and scratched on the base is P26, the casing with curved opposing handles at the sides. Needs polishing, otherwise very fine.

Trench art, brass stylised aircraft mounted sideways on a white metal circular disc and this mounted on a timber block; white metal Lockheed P38 aircraft (missing propellers) mounted on a rotating bracket and this mounted on a tiered timber stand; Army short brass signal horn with suspension loop for wearing on belt. The first item with much spotting, most silver paint missing from second item, the horn with several dents, otherwise very good - fine. (3)

WWII, trench art, silvered metal model of a spitfire mounted on a silvered bullet and casing fitted to a plastic base; also a brass model of what also appears to be a spitfire mounted on a rod fitted to a large metal map of Australia, suitable for an ashtray; very large shell casing base, most markings unclear, made into an ashtray and fitted in the centre with a cartridge and shell casing and mounted on top of this is a matchbox holder, fitted around the sides of the casing are four cigarette holders, one of these is loose, also on the front are the brass initials, 'RAN'; another ashtray made from the base of a British 25 pounder artillery shell casing, fitted with four cigarette holders and each of these is above a small cartridge. Both models of the aircraft without propeller, the first with some loss of silvering and the plastic base cracked, the second with a few bumps and the map with some oxidation, otherwise very good - good fine. Trench art, cigarette lighter in brass with lift-off lid with Lebanese decoration on top, base missing; another lighter in brass with pull down handle, mounted on an oval brass base marked Ward & Sons 12; ashtray made from the base of 15MM M/18 1941 shell casing; holder made from a silvered 75MM M5AI Type 1 shell casing base, inside fitted with a decorated short rod. Trench art, ashtray made from the base of a chromed artillery shell, the base with '25Pr/II/978/MC/upright defence arrow/1943/CF', upright in the centre is a large brass machine gun shell case with chromed cartridge fitted, the base with three cigarette rests, atop the cartridge is fitted a stylised silvered Vampire jet partly made from shell casings and cartridges; another handcrafted chrome ashtray with three cigarette rests and fitted at one end is a bowed support attached to which is a crafted British Spitfire; also a crafted circular, tiered brass base and in the centre is what appears to be a cartridge and case on top of which is attached a brass model of a British Hawker Hurricane but no propeller; chromed model of a Lockheed Ventura aircraft missing propellers and with holed provision for fitting to a stand but no stand. All items need cleaning of oxidation and the first with loss of silvering, otherwise good - fine. (4)

Trench art ashtrays, the first features an ashtray in the shape of a map of Australia divided into only four states and one territory with each section painted a different colour and with two cigarette rests at the base, one at each side, and fitted at the top end is a rotating silvered Handley Page Hampden aircraft; the second in brass features an ashtray in the shape of a map of Australia with a sitting kangaroo at the lower end of Victoria, and fitted at the top end is a rotating Handley Page Hampden aircraft. Some silvering missing and some spots on coloured tray of the first, otherwise fine; the second needs cleaning, otherwise good fine. (2)

Trench art ashtray, in brass, with base of a shell casing marked 25PR 1940 by EEC, inside this is a machine gun casing and fitted above this is a revolving brass circular stand with a railing and in the centre of this is a screw top brass pole and screwed onto this pole is a blackened brass model of a P38 Lockheed Lightning aircraft. Fine - very fine.

Trench art, an ashtray made from the base of an artillery shell, the base marked '25 Pr/II/Lot/2725.RLB/1941CF' and other markings, fitted on the edge of the ashtray are four cigarette holders in the shape of a heart, club, spade and diamond and in the centre of the ashtray is a machine bullet casing and cartridge and atop the cartridge is a bomber made from machine gun cases and cartridges, all sections have been chromed or silver plated, the main body of the bomber has been broken and crudely repaired and one propeller is missing; a brass model of a twin-engine bomber aircraft mounted on top of a long rod attached to a small circular tiered wooden base that is seated on another larger timber base with provision for two more rods to be fitted; a model fighter aircraft, missing both tail wings and propeller, fitted to a thin pole that is screwed to a tiered circular metal base, all parts except the pole are chromed. Poor - very fine. (3)

Trench art, chromed ashtray made from the base of an artillery shell, the base marked, '105L Mle 1913/A TE 18/L.18 R' and TF on base of R, the base with three cigarette holders and on one side is affixed a chromed Australia metal shoulder title, in the centre is a tube with a match box holder at the top and at the sides are decorative wings, one of these with a small chromed Rising Sun badge (KC) affixed. Very fine.

Trench art lamp, made from a large cartridge case with cartridge attached and on one side of the cartridge case is a silvered air force Pathfinders badge with silvered KC above, with a tiered decorated base and a domed round timber base with electrical cord and plug attached, at the lamp end is a screw fitting that allows the lamp to be upright or at an angle, all metal sections are chromed. Needs a good clean to remove some oxidation, otherwise fine.

Australia, small brass shell casing made into a small lamp, maybe, the base with stamps indicating that it is a type No.5.1 by V.S.M. (Vickers, Son & Maxim), one side is fitted with the reverse of an Australian 1917 halfpenny; matchbox holder in brass and affixed at the top is a small Rising Sun badge (KC) in bronze, and on the other side is affixed a Netherlands Indies half gulden dated 1941; India, silvered ashtray, the base on the inside with the badge and the name Indian Air Force in English and Hindi. The second item with oxidation, otherwise fine - very fine. (3)

Trench art, World War I, copper bladed scimitar letter opener, at the handle end is a bullet and attached to the side of the bullet is an Imperial German Army Prussian crown uniform button and at the end is affixed a British General Service button, on one side of the blade is inscribed, 'Sergt. Adel', and on the opposite side is inscribed, '1919/Abbeville'. Fine.

Trench art, ceremonial gong crafted from base of a Japanese artillery shell (base diameter approx 17cm), with markings, F, 10, crossed cannons, S in triangle and Japanese characters, at the top there is a short chain added which attaches to a timber frame, together with a brass rod with a ball at the end for ringing the gong, the ball is felt covered, the brass rod also has a loop at one end for hanging on the back of the timber frame. Needs cleaning, otherwise fine. (3 parts)

Australia, WWII, trench art, 13th Light Horse Regiment V.M.R. hat badge (Cossum 1930-42, p8, d) in white metal sealed in an epoxy resin block in the colours of the unit colour patch, attached to a piece of timber attached at both ends to deactivated .303 cartridges and these fitted to a clear plastic base for display. Very fine.

Trench art, a large timber shield with a brass shield attachment decorated at the bottom with two bullet cartridges, down through the centre is a swivelling decorated brass rod curved at the top and with provision for attaching a hanging artillery shell casing by Berndorf 1912, also marked on base 21, and with a suspension loop attachment in the centre. Very fine.
