Convict token, a George III cartwheel penny partly shaved smooth and with a centre part hole on both sides and on the reverse is a series of stipple marks of roughly 4-lines in the shape of a square near top edge, obverse stipple inscribed around the edge, 'T. Chambers.', with the stops in the form of larger part holes. The coin poor, otherwise very fine.

Convict token, a George III 1797 cartwheel penny, the obverse with a cross through the portrait of George III, the reverse is shaved smooth and around the top and bottom edge is a decorative laurel pattern and curved below this at the top is inscribed, 'Dear Father and Mother', below this is an 8-pointed star above six lines of text, 'Keep this/as an Emblem/of Love, and/Gratitude/from your unfortunate/daughter', and curved around the bottom above the laurel, 'Sarah Phillips'. Good - very fine.

Three marks at the left side of the reverse, possibly from being in a mount, otherwise good fine.

New South Wales Medal for Capturing Bushrangers, 1851, in silver (38mm) by J.C.Thornthwaite, obverse, coronetted head of Queen Victoria left, J.C.T. on truncation, inscription around 'Granted for Faithful and Distinguished Services', a six pointed star below Queen's neck, reverse, the NSW Coat of Arms surrounded by 'Colony of New South Wales' and six pointed star below, edge engraved in seriffed sloping block capitals 'Sergt, M.Doyle MD, Police, 1851'. With original ring suspension, two surface marks on Queen's cheeks, slight wear only on high points, most attractively toned, nearly extremely fine and of the highest rarity and importance as the earliest die struck medal minted in New South Wales and J.C.Thornthwaite's first completed work.
