New South Wales, 1852 1d carmine, on medium bluish medium wove paper, as a RH corner strip of 4 with fine margins, brilliant colour, includes the variety 'WALE' for 'WALES' error, (SG 45, cf.44c); together with an accompanying letter from the Inspector of Stamps to the Governor and reply where he approves this issue of stamps. Mint, unused without gum.
