Educated Fort Street Boys' High School and Sydney University. Graduated MB. BS. 1935. Entered A.I.F. as a Captain AAMC 17 June 1940. Taken P.O.W. Greece 20 May 1941 discharged 31 December 1945. Later, Medical Superintendent Sydney Hospital. Died in New York 30 August 1967. 'For gallantry on the 18th September, 1918, in the attack on the Hindenburg outposts near Ascension Wood. He delivered rations up to the company after the first part of the attack had taken place. On hearing that the attack was to continue he led the bombing attack on an enemy trench that was holding out.' Together with extensive Australian archives research with copies of documents relating to his military career; and letter to his mother regarding his award.
