Thrace, Kingdom of, Coson, (c.42 B.C.), gold stater, (8.2 grams), Northern Greece mint, obv. three togate figures advancing to left, the first and third carrying an axe over left shoulder, [K]O**SWN* in exergue, rev. eagle standing to left on sceptre, holding wreath in one claw, (S.1733, BMC 2, Winkler 4). Off centred on the reverse, otherwise extremely fine and nearly as struck, rare.

Mysia, Lampsakos, electrum stater, c.500-480 B.C., (15.125 grams), obv. forepart of winged horse to left, rev. quadripartite incuse square, alternate compartments deeper, (cf.S.3881, cf.Weber 5105, cf.BMC 7, cf.Baldwin [AJN 1914] period I, No.11, [p.7, Pl.I, 9], Boston 1582 [pl.77 similar dies], cf.SNG Von Aulock 1289, cf.ACNAC Rosen 523 [p.34, Pl.20), cf.Hess-Leu Sale 24 [April 16, 1964 lot 189 similar dies and probably the same reverse die]). Very fine and extremely rare and probably unique for these dies.

Lydia, Persian Imperial Coinage (c.350 B.C.), struck in period of Artaxerxes III, gold daric, (8.2 grams), obv. bearded archer (probably the king) running to the right with transverse spear over shoulder, and bow in right hand, rev. oblong punch, (S.4679, Carradice type IIIb, nos.30-31, Pl.XIII). Good fine and scarce.

Faustina Junior, wife of Marcus Aurelius, (d.A.D. 175), gold aureus, (7.38 grams), issued at Rome under Antoninus Pius, obv. FAVSTINAE AVG PII AVG FIL, draped bust to right, with hair in a bun or chignon high on the back of the head, rev. VE NVS, Venus standing to left, holding apple and rudder with a dolphin entwined around the anchor, (S.-, RIC 517a, cf.C.266 (denarius), BMC RE 1065). Lightly toned, superb high relief, full flan, practically uncirculated and extremely rare in this condition.
