Capt/Lt. Col. R.E. Jackson 10 LHR/3rd Div Hqdrs A.I.F. Trio only named impressed. Court mounted for wear and in fitted case by Spink & Son London. Some enamel damage on French award, otherwise very fine.

Albert Medal engraved: 'Presented in the name of Her Majesty to William Borland, sapper of the partially paid Submarine Mining Corps in recognition of his gallantry in saving a comrade from drowning at Middle Head Sydney on the 3rd April 1891'; Trio impressed '2553 W.O. W. Borland 11 ASC AIF.' (rank on 1914-15 Star shown as S/Sgt); CAFLSM engraved '544 Cpl W. Borland, A.E. 9.6.06' RHS Medal engraved 'William Borland 3rd April 1891.' First and last awards in inscribed cases of issue. Good very fine.

Last medal unnamed, others impressed. Name on trio shown as 'Dalton.' DCM: C.G. 3 June 1919.'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, during an enemy attack. By bombing from a very exposed position he checked the enemy, and inspired his comrades by his courage. Later, when all his officers had become casualties, he took command, and displayed splendid judgment and leadership under the most trying circumstances.' Coronation Medal confirmed on roll.
