Group of Eight. Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) companion's neck badge in gilt and enamels in damaged case of issue. Distinguished Service Order (GVR); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal (MID); Jubilee Medal 1935; Coronation Medal 1937; Legion of Honour (France) Chevalier's breast badge in gilt and enamels. Capt/Lt. Col. R.E. Jackson 10 LHR/3rd Div Hqdrs A.I.F. Trio only named impressed. Court mounted for wear and in fitted case by Spink & Son London. Some enamel damage on French award, otherwise very fine.
CMG: L.G. 3 June 1919. 'For Services Rendered During the War.' CDG: C.G. 8 November 1917 : 'Presented by the President of the French Republic for distinguished services rendered during the course of the campaign.' MID: LG.15 May 1917, 28 December 1917; 28 May 1918. Coronation and Jubilee Medals confirmed on roll. Together with newspaper clipping with photograph reporting his death. Major General Robert Edward Jackson. CMG 1919; DSO 1918; born 1886; son of Samuel Jackson, Mount Lawley, Perth W.Australia; married 1914 Edith Marguerite, daughter of late H.D. Vautin, Sydney N.S.W., two sons and one daughter. Educated: Brisbane Grammer School. Served European War 1915-19 (despatches thrice, DSO, Chevalier of Legion of Honour, CMG); General Officer comanding, 1st Division, NSW 1939-40; G.O.C. Northern Command. Australia 1940-41; G.O.C.
