Group of Five. Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVR); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal; Coronation Medal 1937. 1597 Sjt. H.H. D'Alton 12/52 Bn. A.I.F. Last medal unnamed, others impressed. Name on trio shown as 'Dalton.' DCM: C.G. 3 June 1919.'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty, during an enemy attack. By bombing from a very exposed position he checked the enemy, and inspired his comrades by his courage. Later, when all his officers had become casualties, he took command, and displayed splendid judgment and leadership under the most trying circumstances.' Coronation Medal confirmed on roll.
