Cilicia, Nagidus, (c. 370 B.C.), silver stater, (10.83 grams), Aphrodite seated to left, holding phiale over altar, Eros stands behind her, rev. Dionysos standing with head to l., holding grape cluster with right hand, left hand holding thyrus, (S.5585, Lederer 26). Extremely fine with attractive steel blue patina, rare.

Cilicia, Satrap of Cilicia, Mazaios, (361-334 B.C.) silver stater, (10.7 grams), Tarsus mint, obv. Baal of Tarsus enthroned to left holding corn ear with bunch of grapes and lotus-headed sceptre, behind Aramaic legend 'Baal tarz', below throne 'ankh' symbol, to left 9, all within circle of dots rev. lion left on the back of a stag kneeling left which it attacks with teeth and claws, above Aramaic legend 'Mazdai' and ear of corn and 2, all within linear circle, (S.5650, BMC 53, not in SNG Levante Cop. or BN). Surface porosity, bright and good very fine, rare.

Zeus seated on throne to left, Nike in outstretched hand, **SI* to left to right **SELEUKOU*, in exergue **[BA]SILEWS, (cf.S.6830, Newell WSM 1346, [p.240, pl.LII, 11). Good very fine, very rare.

Attractive dark tone, large broad flan, extremely fine, the finest known of this very rare mint type.

As struck, exceptional full portrait of Nero, good extremely fine, and very rare thus.
