Jardine, Walter Lacy, (1884-1970), original watercolour, c1944, depicting a detailed depiction of the Normandy landings, likely to be Utah beach on June 6, 1944, the heavy combat scene outlines United States and British troops advancing on a German position using bayonets and weapons, the German casemate 88mm gun points towards the landing craft with support ships firing, allied aeroplanes advance overhead, the scene is depicted as chaotic and brutal in the full heat of battle, (54 x 37 cm), framed (71 x 54 cm). Extremely fine with no tears or fading, very rare.
