Julius Caesar, silver denarius, issued 49-48 B.C., Moving Mint with Caesar, (3.83 g), obv. Elephant to right trampling on serpent CAESAR in exergue, border of dots, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat all in dotted circle, (S.1006, C.443./1, BMC Gaul 27, Sear Julius Caesar 49 [p.111]). With collector's description, toned off centred, nearly very fine.

Banker's marks on obverse and reverse, otherwise nearly fine and rare.

Struck slightly off centre on an uneven flan, nearly very fine and scarce.
