New South Wales, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, countermarked on each side in a circle surrounding a central hole (16mm) pierced through a Charles IIII Mexico City Mint eight reales 1805 T.H. (Mira-Noble 1805/22, die I/6: A/2). Well struck countermarks, extremely fine, host coin very fine or better and attractively toned bluish grey with darker highlights, weakness at 5 o'clock during manufacture, a most attractive holey dollar with a long provenance.

Well struck and centred, extremely fine or better, traces of the centre of the reverse of original eight reales on the obverse, slight old filing of rim at 6 o'clock on the reverse, old carbon oxidation spot on the reverse, otherwise a most attractive dump, among the finest dozen known.

Well struck, full denticles on the obverse, nearly so on the reverse, traces of the reverse of the centre of eight reales on the obverse, light grey tone with dark oxidised tone to lower right of crown, nearly extremely fine and very rare in this condition, one of the finest known.

Rough punch marks on top right of crown and top centre of date, otherwise an excellent example of this crudely made variety, sometimes referred to as a contemporary counterfeit, extremely rare, one of the finest known of this die pairing.
