Australia, circular sweetheart brooch in nacre (39.5mm), pin-back, features a voided design of a kangaroo and emu supporting a Rising Sun badge, atop of the badge is a winged cross on a shield marked 'AIF' in black and on the bottom edge in black letters in relief, 'PALESTINE'. Good very fine.

WWI trench art, a rifle cartridge, empty of powder and with a removable bullet, on one side of the shell casing is affixed clovers and scroll (?) at top, then vertically down is an exploding bomb, a naval anchor, and crossed cannons, and then an oak spray on a plaque which is inscribed, 'Campagne/1914-1915', the headstamp impressed on the base of the cartridge is, 'S/1/11/ (and engraved) 3'; also a casting of a crucifix (2.5x4.5cm) in blackened bronze, with suspension loop, features a skull below Christ's feet and on the reverse is the word 'MISSION' on the cross bar and at the left side is a hammer and at the other side a pair of pincers, above on the vertical beam is a crown of thorns and below is a ladder, spear, nails, a rooster atop a pole (symbolising Christ facing into the sins and dangers of the world). Fine; very good. (2)

Australia, WWI, trench art in the form of a bronze Arabian scimitar (total length 15.7cm), the guard is a cut-out from an Australian Rising Sun collar badge, along the blade is inscribed, '1916 Belgium 1917' on one side and 'France 1918' on the opposite side. Fine.

Australia, WWI, trench art slouch hat handcrafted from copper (approx L11.4xW8.4xH 3.5cm), affixed at the turned-up brim is a crudely made Australian Rising Sun hat badge; also a miniature slouch hat made from an Australian Elizabeth II penny; another miniature copper hat, probably for a charm bracelet; tin hat day badges in tin (3), and another in bronze with stick-pin and 5/- on reverse; also a War Victims Relief Day tinnie. Good - very fine. (8)

Australia, WWII, autographed, handcrafted timber Central Australian hunting boomerang (approx 61.5cm long), in the centre area is penned, 'No. 5 Plt.' and below are two signatures, one being D M Holbrook (SX24489 Dudley Malcolm Holbrook, enlisted at Alice Springs, Northern Territory), with a total of approximately 64 penned signatures from one end to the other. Very fine and an interesting piece of historic war-related memorabilia.
