Ottoman Empire, mid 19th century, yataghan sword with finely forged blade of twisted steel strips in a pattern known as 'Turkish Ribbon', length of blade 53.5cm, very richly decorated with gold koftgari work and inscriptions in Arabic letters on both faces, with silver bolsters and grip strap, set with coral stones, gilded silver grips, scabbard covered fabric (later) and mounted with large, very finely chased silver locket and chape with a fish head at the tip, total length including scabbard 71cm. Traces of hammering in the blade centre and some nicks to flat back edge, otherwise very fine and a very impressive Yataghan sword.

Ottoman Empire, mid 19th century, yataghan sword (58cm), mid 19th century, with well forged 58cm blade with impressed maker's mark, fine bone grip with flared ears and around the centre and overlaying onto the blade for a distance of 9cm is an elaborately carved, raised silver decoration, with a very finely chased, heavy silver scabbard, total length including scabbard 81cm. Grips with a few age cracks and good age patina, one solder repair around the diameter of the scabbard, otherwise very fine.

Ottoman Empire, early to mid 19th century, short knife in the shape of a small yataghan is also known as a bichaq, with a single edge blade 21cm long, forged from pattern welded steel in the pattern known as 'Turkish Ribbon', with a chased silver handle and scabbard, total length including scabbard 34.5cm. A few forging flaws on the blade, otherwise very fine.
