Bukkulla Vineyards, McIntyre River, Inverell, five pounds currency note, dated July 30th 1869 (date written), No.52, no watermark, value tablets in upper corners and arms in centre, on front Pay Russel (handwritten) or Bearer the sum of FIVE POUNDS and to lower left 'Messrs Wyndham, Dalwood Vineyards, Branxton N.S.W.', signed by F.W.Wilkinson. Note is cross cancelled, handwritten 'Paid / August 30/69' and stamped Commercial Banking Company of Sydney / INVERELL, imprint S.T Leigh & Co Sydney, all within rectangular ornamental border, lilac on white (Vort Ronald type 2 [p.24 & 25], he illustrates this note in Vort Ronald..Shinplaster..p.24). Several pin holes, stains, minor tears, otherwise nearly very fine and probably unique.

Note is cross cancelled, handwritten 'Paid Jan 28/71, rectangular ornamental border, blue on white rubber stamped at the CBC Inverell. (Vort Ronald type 3 [p.243 & 25] illustrates this example in Vort Ronald..Shinplaster..p.25, and described as type 3). Missing portion of left side, thinned in places and with a few holes, otherwise very fine.

Heavy toning and very dirty, with holes, otherwise very good.
