New South Wales, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, struck on a Charles IIII Mexico City Mint eight reales, 1804, dies I/3:A/3 (Mira-Noble 1804/11; Spalding 133). Countermarks sharp and clear, central hole not fully punched out in one quarter (i.e. off centre), some dark oxidation (from burial) on edge of matrix, otherwise attractive grey toned, good very fine and very rare, an interesting specimen with an historical provenance.

Traces of chin and mouth of Charles IV on obverse, traces of arms on reverse, well struck with full rim of denticles on the obverse, slightest friction on high points takes this away from extremely fine, attractive grey toning, good very fine and one of the finest known.
