Japanese sword, 24-inch blade, signed tang, several chips to edge and the tip, replacement scabbard, shark skin on handle split and cloth binding has come undone at top end, kashira missing but menuki still attached, retaining peg missing, tsuba and fuchi-kashira decorated, cord guide loose, fitted with brown and blue cord and tassels as used by Army Company officers. Good.

Middle Eastern daggers, Ottoman / Middle Eastern jambiya, curved blade with four wide fullers on each side, base of blade and adjoining section of hilt and both sides of handle area are overlaid in gold leaf and flower pattern, ivory grip, no scabbard; Indo/Persia, steel handle and scabbard overlaid with traditional ornate floral pattern, blade with Arabic engraved motif, lower half rusted on both sides. German set of hydrometers, WWII, for use on a boat (submarine) for measuring density of oil and battery acid, set of five instruments in case by Albert Dargatz, Hamburg 1 (4 hydrometers, 1 thermometer), gold blocked on lid '4 Spindeln / 1 Thermometer', together with a photo of a German Navy crewman in uniform and inscribed on reverse, 'At sea from 13.1.41 hope you keep me in your thoughts, Heinrich' (basic translation). WWI Internment Camp correspondence, letter and envelope from Prime Minister, Melbourne, 14th January 1916, regarding a permit to visit the addressee's husband at the internment camp, signed personally by W.'Billy' Hughes; Prime Minister's Department envelope addressed to an internee at Liverpool Concentration Camp, stamped on reverse, 'Censored / German Concentration Camp / Liverpool', the postage stamp on this latter item partially torn away and the envelope has some foxing, so condition fine, the first envelope has foxing on reverse otherwise nearly very fine and the letter is extremely fine.
