Eisenhower, General of the Army, Commanding General United States Forces European Theater, stating 'The President of the United States of America has directed me to express to Geertruida Maria Harff-Koen the gratitude and appreciation of the American people for gallant service in assisting the escape of Allied soldiers from the enemy' with the seal of HQ of European Theater of Operations and vignette of US Predidential seal; another from Sir Arthur Tedder, Air Chief Marshal, Deputy Supreme Commander Allied Expeditionary Force 1939-1945, stating 'This certificate is awarded to Geertruida Harff as a token of gratitude for and appreciation of the help given to the Sailors, Soldiers and Airman of the British Commonwealth of Nations, which enabled them to escape from, or evade capture by the enemy', together with a most interesting printed account of the Harff family and their role for receiving these certificates. (3)
