Perthshire, Lochearn, halfpenny, a ring punch countermark Dun McLaren Mercht Lochearn, struck on a worn halfpenny or halfpenny size copper blank (Davis 95,S.St.75). Another, similar collector's or museum curator's number in faint black ink on back 3668. Countermarks unevenly applied as usual however complete between the two, good fine and very rare. (2) The first ex Alex Hannah (lot 667 part) Collection (from Seaby (?) in 1968); the second from Spink in 1975.
