Great Britain, Lee Metford steel bayonet, the ricasso stamped on one side '3?00/Wilkinson, London' and on the opposite side, 'broad arrow/crown/3/W', with metal guard and timber and metal handle, the timber stamped on both sides with hard to read details, looks like a crown over 49, no scabbard, also inscribed on the blade is a name, 'D.Ea????kel', possibly a soldier. Scratches on blade and oxidation to all metal, otherwise good.

WWII, Japanese soldier's katana, leather handle and scabbard with brass fittings, with a voided brass tsuba (guard) and this double stamped on the underside, 'HMR' (see note), no stamping under the handle on the tang, the blade has been honed and is very sharp, with a length of cord for wearing on a belt. A few tiny chips on the sharp edge of the sword, otherwise very fine.

Nepal, Gurkha kukri (or Khukuri in Nepali) knife with horn and brass handle in leather scabbard with brass tip, fitted to the scabbard is a badge comprising Ashoka lion, wheel with motto and crossed kukri knives, fitted in scabbard behind the handle of the kukri are three smaller knives, the large knife with ordnance stamp F68 on ricasso, the scabbard with a leather belt fitting. Some spotting on the blades and toned, otherwise fine.

A few small chips to blade and some digs on guard and handle, otherwise fine.

Research documents and photos, compiled over many years by military historian and antique dealer, the late Len Barton, a massive volume of documents, noted a very large amount relating to Australians in the Waikato War in New Zealand, also research on the area of Windsor in outer Sydney and its contribution to the military forces as well as numerous other military research papers and other research into non-military related items such as a large volume of typed papers relating to a commentary of Alexander Brodie Spark's surviving manuscript letter-books, diaries and other papers outlining the life and times of Spark who was born in Scotland in 1792 and died in Sydney in 1856 including his rise to riches and leadership in Sydney and his later downfall. In one very large 45 litre plastic container and one small box, fine - very fine. (lot)

Paper splits and loss of paper at edge as well as a small hole and age toning, the body of the certificate with age toning and other stains and marks, otherwise very good.

Certificate of Appreciation, The Call to Arms presented to Frank Miller by the Council of the Municipality of Newtown, signed on 7 December 1946 by the Mayor, W.F Bodkin and the Town Clerk, R.P.Hitchen, the illustrated and coloured certificate printed on cardboard (approx 30x42.5cm) and suitable for framing. Foxing around the unprinted outer edge, some very small foxing spots, otherwise good very fine.

World War II, a selection of photographs and an allied coloured cartoon page with six separate sections all relating to the 1939-45 war in the Pacific against the Japanese, this page used as an air-drop propaganda leaflet in New Guinea in 1943 and with all text in Japanese suggesting to the Japanese forces that they face humiliation, disease, death by drowning or bombardment and it implies that no good reason exists for a continuation of the war, and as well as the cartoon sheet there are photographs that show a Japanese officer being dragged from a culvert on Leyte Island, three photos show General Hatazo Adachi and other officers surrendering at Wewak, PNG, another photo shows Japanese in the act of surrendering being watched over by armed allied soldiers and another photo with descriptive text on the back shows the aftermath of a US Marine force battle with the Japanese in the Gilbert Islands with bodies strewn along the beach at Tarawa in November 1943 (5,700 Japanese soldiers were killed). Folds and foxing on the cartoon sheet, overall very good - fine, an interesting lot. (8 items)
