Islamic, Timur (Tamerlane), 1369-1405, AR tanka, 1388-1405 of uncertain Central Asian mint (probably Samarkand), the Kalima in 3-lines within square and the four sucessors around, reverse, Arabic script for Sultan Mahmud by order (of) Amir Timur, the Defender (MI.1887). Broad flan of nice silver with attractive tone, a little flatly struck in parts, nearly very fine.
