The Interior has blue velvet roundels in a 4-4-5 pattern fitted with black ribbon lifters and a plain white silk lining to the lid. Extremely fine.

High rims - the Royal Mint must have experimented with the matte five sovereign dies to improve their strike behaviour and quality. This resulted in variations in the height of the rims on these coins. Reverse - Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon small B.P. in relief below right of exergue, which contains the date. Well struck and unmarked and not rubbed, thus FDC.

The miniature St George and dragon pendant at the base of the garter is replaced with floral decoration. There is a beaded circle between the Garter and legend, finishing with a plain border. Rubbed obverse, nearly FDC/FDC.

1902 Proof Florin, Edward VII, 1901-1910. S-3981, ESC-3578, Davies 1530 (N). 11.30g. Reverse - De Saulles helmed and cloaked figure of Brittania with trident and shield bearing the union flag. She is looking right and standing on the prow of a small boat surrounded by waves. Legend interrupted by the trident and helmet reads ONE FLORIN TWO SHILLINGS with the date underneath in relief on the boat's prow. The standing figure of Britannia was drawn by De Saulles from life using the daughter of the then Master of the Mint as his model. Dark toned, obverse, FDC.

Lion passant regardant standing upon the Imperial Crown with a decorated inner circle between the legend and plain border. No designer's initials The legend reads FID: DEF: IND: IMP: with the date divided by the crown and ONE SHILLING below the decorative inner circle. Uneven light tone, FDC.
