Masonic Knights Templar, 'society sword', blade length 71cm, c.1923-25, maker's mark 'The M.C.Lilley & Co, Columbus, Ohio', knight's armoured helmet on pommel, silvered Christian cross on black handle, knight's head on crossguard, nickel plated sheath of 'Sir Knight' decorated in gilt and enamel with resting knight, armour and symbol of Masonic Knights Templar with words, 'I Will Be Faithful Unto Death', also owner's name 'Edward Rantz.', blade ornately decorated depicting crusader scenes and owner's name, opposing maker's mark is the Masonic Knight Templar's symbol and above a skull and crossbones and the words 'Memento Mori' (Remember Your Mortality).
