Samaria, Satrap issue, (375-345 B.C.), silver obol, (0.684 grams), obv. head of bearded satrap to l., wearing Persian tiara, border of dots, rev. Persian king standing to l., fighting winged horned animal, he holds the animal horn in his r., and a dagger in his l. hand, on r. in Aramaic, off the flan [SMRYN], (Meshorer & Qedar "Coinage of Samaria" (CS), CS 3 (20 known), and Samaria Hoard No.18 (CS), (This Coin illustrated and described). Fine for issue, weak in places and very rare.

Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver half shekel or didrachm, (6.39 grams), Tyre mint, issued 18-17 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, to left **PQ* ( = 109 = 18-17 B.C.], to right **KR*, Phoenician letter between legs, around **TUROU IERAS KAI ASULOU*, (S.5921, BMC 234, H.920 [$700 US]). Lightly toned, almost very fine and a rare date.

Phoenicia, Tyre, (c. 2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.21 grams), Tyre mint, issued 112-111 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying a palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, also to left **SI* ( year 16 = 111-110 B.C.], to right monogram of **HAP*, Phoenician letter between legs, around **TUROU IERA[S] KAI ASULOU*, (S.5918, BMC 82, H.1618 [817]). Good very fine with traces of hoard patina.

Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.25 grams), Jerusalem mint, year 161 = 35-6 A.D., obv.laureate head of Melqarth to right, rev. eagle to left, KP over X monogram, to left date **PLQ* = 139 (A.D. 13-4) above club, (cf.S.5920, cf.BMC 240, H.1620 [919]). Small flan as usual for these rare issues and as is usually found poorly struck, short on flan, otherwise nearly very fine/good fine, rare.
