New South Wales, five shillings or holey dollar, 1813, struck on a Charles IIII Lima Mint, eight reales 1808 J.P (Mira-Noble 1808/2; dies II/7:B/1). The hole punched slightly off-centre, the countermark, retaining considerable original mint bloom, almost as struck, nearly extremely fine and rare in this condition, probably the finest of the Lima holey dollars known.

(James McCarr) the above amount to be paid in (wheat) to be delivered at the Green Hills. Written by the same hand on the back "Jas.MCCarr/still rents Land/from Barney by/Wm Masons due/ Jany 1808/ú2.2.10" Printed by G.Howe at the Sydney Gazette. Very fine and exceedingly rare, of immense historical interest and the earliest promissory note in private hands.
