Gilliam, London, Aug. 27 1869, awarded for the Great International Challenge Rowing Contest between Oxford University, England and Harvard University, U.S.A. Holed at top for loop and neck ribbon. Although unnamed this medal is attributed to A.C. Yarborough, a national rower, who emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1870s. Very fine and rare.
