Nearly extremely fine and about as struck, rare.

Mysia, Lampsakos, (c.500-490 B.C.), electrum stater, (15.125 grams), obv. forepart of winged horse to left bridled with round wings, reaces of vine branch above, rev. quadripartite incuse square with alternatively raised and sunk squares, (cf.S.3881 [£2500 commoner variety], Boston 1582 [p.206, Pl.77 similar dies], cf.ACNAC Rosen 523, cf.SNG von Aulock 1289, 1292, Bab. I, 323 var., Baldwin Period I, [AJN 1914, p.7, Pl.I, 9] No.11, cf.BMC 7, Weber 5105). Very fine and extremely rare and probably the earliest example recorded from this city.

Lesbos, Mytilene, c.430 B.C., electrum hekte (2.514 grams), Bodenstedt dates 454-428/7 B.C., obv. head of Aktaion with stag's ear and small horn to right, his hair falling on his shoulders in coarse locks, rev. Gorgon head facing within linear square, (cf.S.4246 [£850]; Bodenstedt 54 [same dies as obv. f/ rev. s], [dies illustrated enlarged Pl.22, 1]; SNG Von Aulock 1697 [same reverse die], SNG Lockett 2760, SNG Fitz. 4348). Worn but of the finest early Classical style, good fine and very rare.

Zeus striding to left, aegis on his extended left arm, wielding a thunderbolt, at his feet an eagle to left, wreath above, to right **BASILEWS* and to left **[A]NTIOXOU*, (S.7497, cf.Newell ESM 713 (p.246, Pl.LIII, 5), M.63 variant [p.39 Vol.I]). Well centred, minor gash in head on obverse, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.
